Hello families, I hope you are each safe and well during this time. Taking each moment and each day one at a time.
My name is JulieAnn. Patient, compassionate Nanny with 10+ years experience caring for children ages newborn to 10 years of age. Highly skilled in infant care with extensive knowledge of safety precautions; feeding techniques; and educational activities to stimulate physical, social, and cognitive development. Child development associate (CDA) with a clean driving record, certified in infant CPR, pediatric first aid, and water safety.
A brief introduction about myself, I have my certification as a teacher through Rasmussen College and I am currently working on my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I will be continuing on with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. My end goal is receive my certification as a Child Life Specialist. I am currently a certified Postpartum Doula, while attending certification classes in Birth Doula, Assistant Midwife/Monitrice, Bereavement Doula and Birth Business School. I have several amazing references from recent families whom I have provided care for. I also have several families that I worked with as a certified Newborn Care Specialist. I keep in touch with each of them.
I have taught in a couple of daycare centers both as a Teacher Assistant and then as a Lead Teacher. I also taught dance c;ass to children ages 8-12 years of age. I taught classical ballet, pointe, and tap dance. I also have been a coach for Girls on the Run,. Having 3 grown children of my own, I homeschooled them and loved seeing them grow and learn and change. Being a mom has been of the greatest blessings in my life.
Working with children for so many years, as well as being a parent myself, I have come to understand that children come into this world with a blank slate. The experiences, environment, adults as well as surroundings are what shape children into who they become. I feel our responsibility as parents and teachers is to provide children with the best education, knowledge, and choices so they are able to grow to their maximum potential. I believe that child should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits with positive discipline, praise and encouragement. I enjoy being surrounded by children because of their imagination, innocence, and creativity.
One of the most common questions I often get asked is, "Why do you love working as a Nanny?" Anyone who works with children knows the joy of helping kids to themselves, the pride in being an important part of the process of raising a child, and the simple fun of play. We know that the things we do today have long reaching effects and the work we do is important. But for me personally what makes being a nanny unique is that I can interact with the whole family, which can have deeper and more lasting benefits. I have benefitted greatly from these relationships in ways that I cannot explain. And what a joy it is to know that I have had a positive influence in a child's life as well as the family's lives.
